Dr. Sarah Y. Vinson is the founder and chief editor of www.blackmentalhealthnet.com. She is a Harvard trained psychiatrist who has learned from supervisors and teachers with a variety of backgrounds including psychiatry, psychology, social work and nursing; ultimately, however, she has learned and continues to learn the most from her patients and their families.
With passion for serving her community, she has lead numerous outreach events. She has also been a speaker at national and international mental health conferences. Many organizations including the American Psychiatric Association, the Black Psychiatrists of America and the University of Florida College of Medicine Department of Minority Affairs have formally recognized her for leadership and service.
